MIX NYC is a nonprofit Queer experimental film festival founded in 1987 by Jim Hubbard and Sarah Schulman. Originally called the New York Lesbian and Gay Experimental Film Festival, MIX was born from the need for a home for Queer experimental films and to provide opportunities for filmmakers to showcase their work to a community that deeply values it. After a five-year hiatus, MIX NYC returned in 2024, steered by a new team of young Queer artists, including Blake Pruitt and Alex Smith as Co-Directors. Tia Wong assisted as a graphic designer, photographer, and production coordinator. Tia designed the festival laurels for the official selection.
